Kristine Gerster, DVM

Kristine Gerster, DVM received her degree from Ross University in 1991 after doing her undergraduate work at MSU.

She opened Towne & Country Animal Hospital in 1994 with her husband, Dr. Kurt Gerster. They have 2 grown children and currently share their empty nest with 3 dogs.

Dr. Gerster enjoys the challenge of emergency medicine and surgery as well as routine surgery. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, spending time outdoors and visiting family and friends.

Kurt Gerster, DVM graduated from the University of Arizona in 1987 with a BS in Animal Science. He received his DVM from Ross University in 1991.

After meeting his wife in vet school, they married and moved back to Michigan and practiced in the Detroit area until they opened Towne & Country Animal Hospital.

Dr. Gerster enjoys general and internal medicine, outside of work he plays on several basketball teams. He also enjoys traveling, running and cycling.







Natasha Lubinski, DVM

Natasha Lubinski, DVM is a 2016 graduate from Michigan State University. She grew up in Minnesota and received her bachelors in biology from Michigan State.

She is a Spartan at heart and enjoys keeping up with their football and basketball programs.

Her special interests in veterinary medicine include dermatology, ultrasound, and staff and client education.

In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy taking Maple, their Goldendoodle, for hikes at the local parks.


Aaron Perkins, DVM

Aaron Perkins, DVM started working at Towne and Country in his current capacity in 2010 (He was initially exposed to veterinary medicine working as a veterinary assistant at Towne and Country during the summer of 2001.). He enjoys the variety of cases that come through the doors on a daily basis.

Dr. Perkins completed his undergraduate education at the University of Oklahoma and subsequently attended vet school at Michigan State University.

He lives in Brighton with his wife, son, and three cats. He enjoys playing golf and softball, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family.








Shannon Williams , DVM completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. She has a special interest in dermatology and soft tissue surgery. 

She is passionate about non-traditional companion animals and pocket pets. 

A native of Howell, she was involved in Livingston County 4-H which was her inspiration in joining the veterinary profession. 

Dr. Williams shares her home with 3 rabbits, 2 cats, and a new Golden Retriever puppy. Dr. Williams enjoys gardening and painting in her free time.


Sarah Hage , DVM is a 2020 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also received her undergraduate degree from MSU in Animal Science and Agribusiness. She grew up in the Brighton area and has been with Towne & Country since starting as a veterinary assistant in 2012.

She enjoys the diversity of cases at T&C, her special interests include working on reduced fear visits and low-stress handling, as well as, emergency medicine and client education.

When not at work, Dr. Hage can be found working on her family farm or out hiking, kayaking or generally enjoying the outdoors. She has many pets, pictured are Sammy, Maggie, Jack, and Popeye the cat.








Dr. Pirochta

Kaitlyn Pirochta, DVM is a 2021 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is from the small town of Perry and received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Olivet College.

Dr. Pirochta has a special interest in dentistry, dermatology, and preventative medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys boating on the lake, spending time with her family, and spoiling her cat Charlie.

Jennifer Whitney, DVM

graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She is originally from Dexter but lived in Perth, Australia for two years before moving back to Michigan and joining the Towneand Country team.

 At work, Dr. Whitney has special interests in low-stress handling, ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys playing board games with her friends and family, nature photography, hiking with her husband, and playing Ultimate Frisbee.

    DVM

    Jennifer Sharbowski, DVM earned both of her degrees from Michigan State University. She graduated in 1997 with a BS in Zoology followed by her DVM in 2001 from the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine.

    She worked for 10 years in general practice in Dearborn Heights before joining Towne and Country in 2012. She has worked ER for the past 6 years and enjoys the 'dark side'.

  • Alex Politis
    DVM

    Alex Politis, DVM is a 2019 graduate from the Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine. He grew up in Fraser, MI and received his bachelors degree in Philosophy from the University of Michigan.
     
    His special interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, clinical pathology, and exotics.
     
    He owns a cat named Cyrus and a bearded dragon named Trajan, but he is looking to expand his zoo very soon. Alex is a die-hard Detroit Red Wings fan and enjoys writing, swimming, playing hockey, reading, listening to history podcasts, sampling whiskeys, and karaoke.
